Chavurah Cookbook

What makes this Chavurah different from other synagogue options? We believe that Judaism can only be experienced to its fullest if it is transmitted with passion! Our religious services, classes, and activities are always imbued with the passion for living Judaism in a modern world.

We hold Shabbat services once a month. Services are conducted in a private home, in a warm, relaxed environment. Our Friday night service is followed by  Shabbat dinner. Our services are interactive and explanatory, and questions are welcome at any point. Our Education programs are geared towards families; they engage parents and children in learning activities which help foster the pride of being Jewish. This allows families to discuss Jewish values together and build a personally meaningful Jewish identity. Our families are encouraged to learn the “how to” as well as the “why” so that they can make informed decisions regarding their Jewish living.

There are no membership dues at Family Chavurah. We rely on voluntary support, since we believe that in a spiritual community, financial support should be an expression of belonging, and not a price you pay to be a member. Becoming a member of the Family Chavurah means that you want to share the joy and the responsibility of participating in a community which worships and learns together. It means that you want to grow in your Judaism and are willing to do your part to make this community a strong, caring and vibrant one.

The Family Chavurah is not affiliated with any organized movement, and welcomes all Jews, regardless of their level of knowledge or observance.
